The LungTrainer Classic is the original lung training device. This unique breathing device incorporates the IBA (S or B series) to monitor the amount of air flow used and weighted inserts to control the amount of pressure applied. One full insert is calibrated to .5 psi, the same as the balloon used with our individual breathing assistant models. Each Classic comes with 3 full inserts, allowing for a pressure generation of up to 1.5 psi. This increased pressure is ideal for instruments that require more back pressure, such as the trumpet, oboe, and French horn. The IBA-S Series is a versatile breathing training device designed for woodwinds, voice, tuba, and percussion. This breath training device features a patented mouthpiece/air regulator, allowing the user to vary the amount of air exhaled by adjusting the number of air flow holes that are opened. With all holes opened, maximum air flow is achieved. Additionally, it includes a special pressured balloon that reinforces the user’s expected air pressure, stabilizing at .5 psi. When the balloon is inflated, the user must engage the diaphragm, promoting core breathing. In group settings, instructors can easily identify users who are properly using their diaphragms. The balloon maintains .5 psi regardless of the number of holes opened or closed.
